A lifestyle change for a Healthier, Happier You
Happy New Year! I am very excited to start 2025, and I gotta tell ya, I have a good feeling about this year.
At the start of every year, we come up with New Year resolutions. However, the problem with New Year resolutions is the simple fact that we wait to implement changes in our lifestyle at the start of the year, rather than taking initiative to make the change at any other time of the year. Initiating change that comes from within you, will set you up for better success and lifestyle changes. On the contrary, starting a new habit at the start of the year can be a good idea because we often have hope in new beginnings and can be motivated by fresh starts, as said by James Clear in his book “Atomic Habits.”

Like many others, I am looking to make huge strides and reach certain goals in 2025. To do this, I need to be more consistent, productive, and intentional with my actions. Essentially, I need to adopt and implement healthier habits in 2025.
Increasing productivity and living a more happy and fulfilling lifestyle are huge goals of mine this year. Here are 7 healthy habits I personally plan to implement in 2025.

7 Healthy Habits for a Happy and Fulfilling Lifestyle
1. Movement Everyday
It’s proven that my overall well being feels better when I am exercising, so I want to at least move my body in some way everyday, even on days when I don’t plan to go to the gym.
2. Read Everyday
I want to intake new information each day and continue to learn new skills– I want to exercise my brain! Less scrolling and less Netflix.
3. Consistent Night Time Rituals
Winding down is important and it makes me feel at peace after a long workday. My night time rituals will consist of night time tea, lighting a candle, and journaling. Night time rituals will also prepare me for a better sleep to wake up early, which leads me to the next habit…
4. Adequate Sleep (7+ hrs a night)
Obviously we all know it’s ideal to get 6-8 hours of sleep a night, so I am aiming for at least 7 hours of sleep night. Adequate sleep will also allow me to wake up earlier!
5. Early Morning Starts
Enhanced productivity is another one of my goals this year. I want to dedicate mornings to being productive before my full time 9-5 job, so the more time I have in the morning, the more productive I will most likely be and the more work I will accomplish!
6. Morning Stretches Once a Week
There are many benefits to stretching, especially stretching in the morning. Besides waking up my body and preparing me for the day, stretching in the morning can contribute to my overall mental health by calming my mind and body and also allowing myself to practice mindfulness.
7. Consume Alcohol on Occasion Only
Obvious reasons with this one! Drinking at night has NEVER allowed me to wake up early the next morning and be productive. Reducing consumption of alcohol will allow me to stay on track with reaching my goals and to not skip a productive morning of working on myself.
Here’s to personal growth, self improvement, and good mental health. An overall HEALTHIER, HAPPIER, and more FULFILLED YOU. Happy New Year, we got this!
